Too tired to offer much in the way of an actual update, or fascinating opinions. I’m alive. Work is hard, but satisfying. Family is ok. More, perhaps, later.

Since the internet intermission currently going on at our house, I have neglected my blogging duties nearly completely. I say nearly, because I still try to keep up with other folkses writings, but obviously have not offered anything up myself of any worth in quite a while.
So, as the title suggests, I’ve read quite a [...]

Review: Bitten, All Creatures, Great and Small
February 18th, 2008 · No Comments
I was introduced to Kelley Armstrong, if you’ll remember, through my last good read, Dates From Hell. The protagonist was an interesting woman, and I was more than eager to delve into her ‘Women of the Otherworld’ series.
Bitten is the story of Elena Michaels, a woman with the dubious distinction of being the only known [...]

My friend from work, Sky, suggested that I start reading the Kim Harrison books, and because I’d developed a love for all things Charlaine Harris, I agreed. Kim Harrison has written a series about a witch named Rachel Morgan, and they could not be more engrossing books. The character development is not obvious [...]

Something on the Wind

Something’s coming, and I’m thinking it’s a good thing. I feel quiet and electric and super-aware. Tingly.

There is a pizza place on the ‘T’ intersection of Middlebrook Pike and Cedar Bluff called Mancinos.
They have meatball grinders.
I have had a grinder from this place, now. (though not a meatball grinder)
When I walked into the place, it smelled EXACTLY as a pizza joint should smell. Like baking and meat and sauce, and goodness.
Another [...]

The Dark is Rising, but not my spirits.
May 22nd, 2007 · No Comments
I’m reading an interview of the scriptwriter who adapted The Dark Is Rising, and I just want to cry.
I don’t think I even want to see the movie at this point.
You’re adapting a novel, you want to respect the writer and all that. But at the same time — perhaps it’s different with Harry Potter [...]
