Welcome, MySpace friends, to where “the awesome” lives.
To LJ friends still with us, I don’t love you any less. I just love you differently.

Now if I was really clever, I’d actually post a worthwhile update here, so.. I think I will.

Have finally been making trips to the doctor. The whole, “if I don’t know, it can’t hurt me” mentality was not only crap, it was dumb. I’m getting older, and I’d like to continue to do so for at least the next fifty or so years. That said, a few things are on the horizon:

I’ve got to have a uterine biopsy next month because the gyno is worried about the womanly goings-on and that it might point toward a pre-cancerous condition. Other factors lumped in with that will mean I’ll also be asking her to run a couple of tests to check for the possibility of polycystic ovarian syndrome/disease. I’m not hugely stressing anything yet, but a kind thought was never wasted on me.

Still at JTV, but looking elsewhere. There seems to be less and less possibility of advancement there, and the longer I work there, the more brain function I seem to be losing. Picked up a copy of a biography of Simone de Beauvoir just because I assumed it would provide an interesting challenge to read. I wasn’t wrong — so far it’s very good, though.

Speaking of books, I’ve also picked up a copy of Neal Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon to re-read, and I’ve pre-ordered Kim Harrison’s The Outlaw Demon Wails, which can’t come soon enough, let me tell you. Also reading David Edding’s The Elder Gods, and re-reading The Sparrow, by Maria Dora Russell. So.. uhh, yeah. Welcome to the stack of books beside my bed.

Had a bit of an unhappy surprise to find that someone had stolen my WoW account, paid-transfered my level 68 (now 70) character to another server, took all of her gold and eq and then deleted her. Was a busy weekend. Thankfully, Blizzard took care of all of that, replaced most of my belongings and all of my eq, plus gave me what I’m guessing is a “sorry that whole thing blew chunks, didn’t it?” gift of a few thousand gold and some really rocking potions. All is well again, and my password is like Fort Knox now. Un-gettable.

Have invited a couple of friends over this week for dinner, and really looking forward to it. Lasagna galore with Bailey’s cheesecake to follow — yum!

I think I’ll end it there, with a promise to post recipes later.

This will likely start out as a padder post, one made in order to test the fact that someone has graciously and most awesomely created a cross-poster from WordPress to Myspace.

I’ll admit, I can be pretty lazy, and it sucked hugely to have to copy/paste my blog into the Myspace blog section, format correctly (and sometimes all over again, thanks Font Demons). Goodness knows that on my last blog I didn’t even bother with that. Just a link, a pat on the back and a ‘Good Luck!’.

For anyone else interested in such a device (If you blog using WordPress and want to cross it to Myspace, that is) the link lies here:

http://noumenon.roderickrussell.com/myspace-crossposter-v2-released

If it works, woot! If not, eh. No biggie.

As far as updates go, I had a job interview today. Potential exists for me to get back into the IT field. It certainly pays more than the field I’m currently trying to keep a toe-hold in, and with any luck, job advancement might be based on experience and knowledge, and not who you know, as it seems to be with my current employer. A girl can dream.

A new month here in East Tennessee brings lovely cool weather, and a clean calendar on my newly organized website. I was looking around in my site’s control panel and decided to try out one of the blogging tools. So far, I think I’m in love with WordPress, and I really enjoy the ease with which I’ve both uploaded my livejournal posts(all the way back to 2002, and over 700 posts!), and organized the website in a way that is both easy to read and to search.

I have to thank happypete for introducing me to LiveJournal in the first place. At the time I was pretty down on myself, and writing about it seemed to be the last thing I felt like doing. Nearly six years later, I can’t imagine this sort of sharing with friends and strangers not being a part of my life.

These next two days are my weekends, and while I don’t have a lot of stuff planned — what there is is mostly cleaning and dragging stuff up to my room — I’m glad to have the time off from the call center. As simple a job as it is, it can be taxing on the nerves. Here’s to either getting the job I applied for on Friday, or going to 12 hour shifts.

After looking over a few friend’s sites, and learning some new things about tables (like, that I hate them), this is the first incarnation of the site.

I would, however, like to thank ta_chuang, who’s site inspired me to update. And yes, it looks way too much like his site, with my info plugged in, and that will be fixed as I futz over the next week. Ahem. I hope he believes that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? *blinks nicely*
